Our coverage extends to the achievements of African Americans across sports, media, entertainment, business, technology, science, and beyond, including major leagues like the NFL, NBA, NCAA, NHL, MLB, MLS, and WNBA.

Vincent Bungy
Founder, HBCU Original Digital Network

Vincent Bungy, a proud graduate of Bowie State University, is a visionary leader and creative force committed to impactful storytelling and community empowerment. As the founder of the HBCU Original Digital Network, Vincent channels his passion for art, videography, and media into creating compelling content that highlights the legacy of HBCUs and celebrates African American culture.

In addition to his creative pursuits, Vincent is the owner of The United Change, a nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia. With a focus on mentoring, education, and advocacy, The United Change works to inspire and uplift communities. Vincent’s extensive background includes over 25 years of experience in education, mentoring, and coordination, where he has guided and empowered countless individuals.

Vincent’s leadership is amplified by a dynamic team of co-founders and community leaders, including John L. Williams and Alonzo McDowell, who share his commitment to making a difference. Together, they leverage their expertise and shared vision to drive impactful initiatives that leave a lasting legacy.

With a career spanning graphic design, media production, and community leadership, Vincent continues to inspire change, amplify voices, and create opportunities for future generations.

John L. Williams

Co-Founder, HBCU Original | Founder/CEO, Save the Seed, Inc.

John L. Williams is an inspirational leader, energetic speaker, and highly sought-after motivator. Known by many as the Minister of Motivation, Dean of Dreams, and Professor of Progression, Mr. Williams has a unique ability to ignite hope and transformation in the lives of others. Through his passionate and dynamic approach, he empowers individuals to believe in the impossible and achieve their fullest potential.

Overcoming challenges and defying the odds, Mr. Williams graduated from William Penn High School and attended Delaware State University, where he excelled both academically and athletically. His exceptional basketball talents earned him a professional career overseas, with a successful tour in South America. Following his athletic achievements, Mr. Williams returned to Delaware, dedicating himself to uplifting children and transforming communities through positive engagement.

Mr. Williams’ diverse experiences include hosting his own radio talk show and delivering his “YES YOU CAN” motivational message internationally in places like Colombia and Costa Rica. He has also completed numerous state and community-based training programs, further refining his ability to impact youth and families meaningfully.

In response to his own childhood experiences and his passion for empowering young people, Mr. Williams founded Save the Seed, Inc. This youth development and motivational program inspires individuals to create positive changes in their lives, fostering success and resilience. Through this initiative, Mr. Williams collaborates with schools, prisons, community organizations, and faith-based institutions to address barriers that hinder youth from reaching their full potential.

Mr. Williams’ innovative approach and unwavering dedication have made him a trusted partner and speaker for schools, civic organizations, and churches across the region. His programs and messages focus on cultivating self-awareness, leadership, and purpose among young people.

Currently, Mr. Williams is revitalizing Save the Seed, Inc., leveraging his experiences, training, and ministerial gifts to create transformative opportunities for youth and their families. Alongside his wife Whitney and their two daughters, he continues to live out his mission to empower others, strengthen communities, and leave a lasting legacy.

 

Alonzo McDowell

Founder of  Under Recruited Athlete/Sports Show & Co Founder of  HBCU Original

Alonzo McDowell is a trailblazer in sports media, entrepreneurship, and brand development. A graduate of Full Sail University with a master’s degree in Media Design and Innovative Entrepreneurship, Alonzo brings a creative and strategic approach to business and storytelling. He was awarded a prestigious business fellowship for service-connected veterans through the EBV program at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management.

Alonzo also holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Saint Augustine’s University. As a former football player at Hampton University and Montgomery College, Alonzo blends his passion for sports with his entrepreneurial vision, leveraging his personal experiences as an athlete to empower others.

With 18 years of coaching experience at the varsity high school football level across Texas, Georgia, Maryland, and Virginia, Alonzo has mentored and advocated for countless young athletes. His deep understanding of the recruiting process and player development has driven his mission to create pathways for underrepresented athletes.

In addition to his sports career, Alonzo is a  service connected disabled veteran who service our country as an intelligence and cyber analyst both in the Army and as a contractor. His extensive background in data analysis and critical thinking has equipped him with the skills to navigate complex challenges and develop innovative solutions in the sports and media landscape.

As the founder of Under Recruited Athlete and Co Founder of HBCU Original, Alonzo has dedicated his career to creating opportunities for aspiring athletes and amplifying the culture and legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. His work fosters visibility for athletes and builds innovative platforms to honor HBCU heritage, promote African American achievements, and inspire new generations.
