We welcome submissions from writers who share our passion for celebrating the rich history, vibrant culture, and enduring legacy of Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Before submitting your work, please review the following guidelines:

  1. Relevance:
    • Submissions should be relevant to the theme of HBCUs, including topics such as campus life, history, alumni achievements, student experiences, and current events within the HBCU community.
  2. Originality:
    • We prioritize original content that has not been previously published elsewhere.
    • Plagiarism or the unauthorized use of copyrighted material is strictly prohibited.
  3. Quality:
    • Submissions should demonstrate high-quality writing, including clear, engaging, and well-researched content.
    • We encourage creativity and unique perspectives that enrich our readers’ understanding of HBCUs.
  4. Length:
    • Articles should typically range between 500 to 1500 words.
    • Longer pieces may be considered if the content warrants it.
  5. Formatting:
    • Please submit articles in a Microsoft Word document or Google Docs format.
    • Use a clear and legible font (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman) and include appropriate headings, subheadings, and formatting for readability.
  6. Citations and References:
    • If applicable, include proper citations and references to sources used in your article.
    • Follow a recognized citation style (e.g., APA, MLA) for consistency and accuracy.
  7. Images and Media:
    • If you include images, ensure they are high-resolution and relevant to the content.
    • Provide proper attribution for images sourced from external sources.
  8. Author Bio:
    • Include a brief author bio (50-100 words) at the end of your submission, along with a headshot or profile picture.
    • Include relevant links to your personal website, social media profiles, or previous work (optional).
